She is a member of numerous institutional, national, and international professional societies, and has created societies as well. She has been published in medical journals and books over 60 times and holds editorial position for many medical journals. She’s presented to her peers and students over 75 times, and has research completed and ongoing. She’s also won many honors and awards such as her college of medicine’s Excellence in Teaching Award for the Department of Surgery.
