Expert Qualifications

This highly qualified expert has over 10 years of clinical experience as a thoracic surgeon specializing in thoracic oncology and minimally invasive thoracic and foregut surgery. He earned both his BS and MS at the University of Manitoba, later receiving his MD at the University of Toronto. He went on to complete his medical training with a residency in general surgery from the University of Manitoba and a double fellowship in thoracic surgery and minimally invasive thoracic and foregut surgery from the University of British Columbia and Swedish Medical Center in Washington respectively. He is an active member in dozens of committees and medical organizations including the Canadian Association of Thoracic Surgeons. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery, an attending thoracic surgeon and the Program Director of the Thoracic Surgery Fellowship Program at a medical school in Manitoba and previously held similar roles at Dalhousie University. He also serves on the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba Inquiry Committee, and has provided expert witness testimony in medicolegal cases and hospital critical incident reviews.
