Expert Qualifications
This biomedical and biomechanical expert spent over 15 years as a Professor at Johns Hopkins University and over 20 years as a member of their Applied Physics Laboratory. He has worked in biomedical implant analysis and design, materials biomechanics, and laminated composite analysis and design. He earned a B.S and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, as well as a Ph.D. in the same field from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The expert was named a Fellow in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2010 and was selected as the Specialty Chief Editor of the Frontiers online journal Biomechanics in 2013. He has written three book chapters, co-authored 100+ peer-reviewed publications, conference proceedings and presentations, and received 16 patents, including patents involving hip replacements dating back to the 1980s. He currently runs his own consulting firm specializing in composite design and analysis, biomechanics of impact, structural design and analysis, and proposal writing.
