Expert Qualifications

This highly-qualified acute care nurse has more than 15 years of experience in her field, specializing in cardiac surgery and pulmonary transplant in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She earned her ASN from Anne Arundel Community College, her BSN from the College of Notre Dame, and her MSN and DNP in acute care nursing from the University of Maryland. This expert is a licensed registered nurse practitioner and holds an additional certification in acute care nursing. She is active in her field as a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Society of Transplantation. She began her career as a clinical nurse intern on the medical/surgical unit at Johns Hopkins. She then served as a registered nurse in the coronary care ICU at Baltimore Washington Medical Center before serving as an acute care nurse practitioner in the cardiac surgery ICU and telemetry step-down units at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She is currently a senior acute care nurse practitioner in the pulmonary transplant unit at a major university-affiliated medical center in Maryland, where she also serves on the adjunct faculty.
