This qualified expert graduated from Dartmouth College with his AB in neurobiology before earning his MD from New York University. He subsequently completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Colorado and a pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He is board-certified in pediatrics with a sub-specialization in pediatric hematology-oncology. As a pediatrician and pediatric oncologist, this expert specializes in the treatment and management of pediatric brain tumors and other cancers. He is active in his field as a member of the Children's Oncology Group and as an author of several scientific articles. Al Barqawi, MD, FRCS, is an Associate clinical Professor and Lecturer in the Division of Urology at University of Colorado School of medicine. He has expertise in urologic oncology and general Urology primarily in prostate disease, early detection, novel imaging and treatment applications and epidemiology. He pioneered 3D imaging of the prostate gland and focal targeted therapy for prostate cancer. He performed the first focal interstitial laser therapy of the prostate in the US. He also initiated the first phase I study for intra-prostatic injection of Botox for the treatment of BPH. He published more than 100 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. He presented at many national and international meetings. He is also an elected member of the Editorial Board for several national and international medical journals. He serves regularly on the scientific committees for National science foundation and department of defense grant meetings.
