Sports Injury Expert Witnesses

This biomechanics expert specializes in human performance, injury prevention and rehabilitation, and exercise and fitness. He earned his BA in history and his MS in kinesiology from California State University at Fullerton before earning his PhD in kinesiology, recreation, and sports studies with a biomechanics specialization from the University of Tennessee. He holds several certifications, including certifications as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning specialist, and is active in his field as a member of several organizations such as the American College of Sports Medicine and the International Society of Biomechanics. This expert is also an active researcher in his field, having received multiple research grants and authored several peer-reviewed articles, as well as serving as an editor for several scientific publications. Currently, he is both the owner of a personal training company and an assistant professor of kinesiology and a faculty advisor for the Sports Training and Research Program at a major university in California.

This expert received his MSc and PhD in Biomechanics from the University of Waterloo (Canada), and followed up with a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Mobility at Toronto Rehab Institute/Sunnybrook Hospital/University of Toronto. He has over 25 years of experience in biomechanics and kinesiology of human movement. His clinical and research work has included orthotics & prosthetics, footwear, back injury, and neurological disorders (cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, stroke, multiple sclerosis, incomplete spinal cord injury, post-polio). Before his current role, he collaborated in, developed, and managed multidisciplinary clinical and research motion analysis labs in the US and Canada, and taught several biomechanics courses.

This highly-qualified expert has over 25 years of experience in the sports management field. He earned his BS in sports management from Guilford College and remains active in his field through relevant certifications, including in Sports Event Risk Management. He formerly served as an assistant football coach with Guilford College, a personal trainer at three fitness centers in North Carolina, and a strength and conditioning coach for the Greensboro Monarchs Hockey Club. Most recently, this expert was the owner of the East Coast Fitness Center and the president and owner of National AED Sales, LLC. He now is the owner and president of a sports management group in North Carolina, that specializes in risk management in the athletic and fitness industry. In this role, he performs safety audits on athletic and fitness facilities and has authored a number of safety manuals and training programs designed for athletic directors, health club owners and managers.
