He is a fellow at the American College of Chest Physicians, the former president of the International Lung Sounds Association and a member of various other professional organizations, including the American Thoracic Society. He has published 55+ peer-reviewed journal articles and serves as a reviewer for 29 renowned medical journals. He lectures both nationally and internationally and was listed in Marquis's list of "Who's Who in the World". He is the former Chief of Staff of the VA Medical Center and the former medical director of the Pulmonary Clinic at the University of Kentucky, where he also served as associate chief of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. Currently, he is a professor of medicine at a major university and a staff physician at a major medical center. He is currently employed half-time practicing outpatient pulmonary medicine at a major university.
