Motorcycle Accident Expert Witnesses

This highly qualified expert formerly served as the supervisor of the California Highway Patrol Academy's Motorcycle Training Unit. He was an active member of the California Highway Patrol for nearly 29 years and is recognized as an expert in motorcycle training and operations. He routinely consults with and provides advice to people and organizations concerned with motorcycle safety and operations. He has published articles on motorcycle safety in Harley Davidson's The Motor Officer, Law Officer, Police One, Calibre Press and American Motorcyclist magazines, and he has specifically published an article on Escort Safety for funeral processions. While serving as Supervisor of the Motorcycle Training Unit, he was responsible for training and certifying all departmental motorcycle operators and motorcycle training officers. He also trained and certified motorcycle operators and training officers for allied agencies, and he was considered a subject matter expert for motorcycle training and testing to the Department's Occupational Safety Board, and Motor Vehicle Advisory Board. Relevant career accomplishments include being selected by Department's Occupational Safety Board Motorcycle Safety Sub-Committee to script, direct and produce a motorcycle safety DVD for escort and Protective Service operations.

This expert has been involved with Motocross for over 35 years and has organized hundreds of races. He began working in sales for Yamaha in Grenoble, France. After moving to the US, he started Desert Only Travel which was the first major motorcycle touring and special event production company. He created and produced numerous motocross races over the years, including Endurocross which was introduced to the X Games in 2011. He is currently a Consultant and Producer for numerous motocross racing events working with Red Bull, the X Games, Monster Energy, Fox Racing and many other motocross event sponsors.

This New York City traffic maintenance, street design, accident reconstruction, and building codes expert leverages his civil engineering background in his forensic work. He graduated from the City College of New York with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and maintains the distinction of Professional Engineer in both New York and New Jersey. A member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers and Past President (2006) and Fellow in the National Academy of Forensic Engineers, he has previous experience in the design and rehabilitation of highways in the New York area. He is adept at 2D and 3D computer analysis.

This qualified expert earned both his BS in mathematical and computer sciences as well as mechanical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado and California and is certified as a traffic accident reconstructionist, crash data retrieval data analyst and download technician. He is also licensed as a commercial drone remote pilot. He is active in his field as a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers and the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists. Formerly, this expert served as a mechanical engineering intern at Knott Laboratory and as a project engineer at Ponderosa Associates Ltd. Currently, he serves as an engineer at an accident reconstruction and analysis firm in Colorado where he specializes in the investigation, reconstruction, and analysis of motor vehicle accidents including automobiles, heavy vehicles, bicycles, motorcycles and pedestrian impacts.
