This expert is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, and is certified in travel health by the International Society of Travel Medicine. He is active in his field as a member of several organizations, including the Infectious Disease Society of America, the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and the Emerging Infections Network. This expert spent nearly 25 years working for the CDC in a variety of roles, including as a medical epidemiologist in the global migration and quarantine and tuberculosis elimination divisions, the acting branch chief of the global migration and quarantine division. Most recently, he served as the CDC's domestic malaria unit chief, a position he held for 13 years before his retirement.
