This expert has been in the accounting industry for nearly 30 years. A doctor of accounting, he regularly conducts continuing education seminars for organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Accounting Association, law enforcement agencies, and Fortune 500 companies. Widely published in the field, he was a member of the Editorial Board for the Certified Public Accountants Journal for 10 years and served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Forensic Accounting for 4 years. A former Associate Professor of Accounting at Brigham Young University and Senior Forensic Accountant at Eide Bailly, LLP, this expert is now an Associate Professor of Accounting at another major university and is also a Partner at a forensic accounting firm that specializes in fraud detection, investigation, and litigation support services.

He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a Registered Professional Engineer in 9 states. A member of both the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the National Academy of Forensic Engineers, he has published several articles on various issues including cranes and plumbing failures. He previously worked for Georgia Power Company where he maintained different plant aspects and addressed deficiencies. He also worked at Cerny & Ivey Engineers, Inc. where he managed the engineering and technical staff as well as mechanical/electrical/structural engineering and testing responsibilities. He currently serves as President and Principal Engineer for an engineering company that consults in failure investigations, safety, design, and products and materials testing.

This expert is a registered professional architect, earning his degree from the University of Florida. He has worked in various architectural capacities, including design and safety. He is a former president of a corporation involved in both the design and construction of projects in the commercial and residential markets, and is currently the head of an architectural firms specializing in a similar space. His chief areas of expertise include forensic reconstruction of on-premise injury, construction/architecture defects, ADA compliance, building code compliance, construction disputes, premises liability, professional standard of care, document review, coefficient of friction testing, and water intrusion in structures.

This expert's professional career has spanned 50 years, while for the past 20 years he has specialized in guiding companies through the CE marking process for products prepared to enter the EU market and for companies in the US who want CE marking on their products for market flexibility and/or liability protection, many of which are medical devices and machinery. This expert conducts forensic legal analysis of companies' Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), and Quality System Regulations as stipulated by the FDA. He has hosted over 450 seminars and workshops and has published more than 300 articles and multiple books in the areas of Liability, EU Directives/CE Marking, Technical Standards, FDA Quality System Regulations, and ISO 90001 and 14001. He has developed and delivered on-site training programs on product liability exposure for medical device insurance companies, as well as for corporate counsel, defense counsel, and trial attorneys involved with medical devices and medical device manufacturers. As a Senior Consultant for both Excel Partnerships and SAI Global, he also developed and delivered on-site training programs on CE marking for the Medical Devices Directive and related Quality Management Systems. As Legal Expert/Expert Witness he has prepared legal materials for use in litigation involving Quality Systems and CE marked products as well as EU Administrative Reviews.

This expert has extensive experience as a paper scientist and product engineer, with expertise in forensic document examination and legal document services. He earned his BS in paper science and engineering from the University of Minnesota. He has created two patent-pending technologies for advancements in forensic document examination and document security. Formerly, this expert has served as a production engineer for Boise Cascade Corporation and a technical sales analyst for Ashland Hercules Water Technologies. Currently, this expert is an account manager for a paper company in Georgia and a forensic document examination consultant.
